The little 1930’s farmhouse is my husband’s childhood home. This sweet little house required extensive renovations to save it from certain demise. A definite labor of love….and one we found quite rewarding. In keeping with the era of time, we chose to keep the original interior paint colors and include lots of vintage details. It’s like stepping back in time….but with all the modern conveniences. My husband recalls how he and his brother slept upstairs. In the winter it was so cold ice would form on the inside of the upstairs window. Of course, there was no central heat and air in those days…only wood stoves and fireplaces heated the homes. In the summer it was so hot you could hardly breathe. By the time he was 10 or 11 years old, his father would call him and his brother to get up at 4 A.M. and go to the barn to milk. But they knew when they were through with the chores of feeding the cows and milking, a wonderful breakfast would be waiting for them. A breakfast of homemade biscuits, homemade everything from jams and jellies to home-cured bacon and ham. To hear him tell about it makes you wish you had been there too. It was a way of life he fondly recalls.
The little farmhouse has 2 bedrooms downstairs (1 queen and 1 full) and 1 bedroom upstairs (2 twins). A darling little kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a large screened porch. We proudly offer this property loaded with vintage charm and all conveniences of modern day living which include TV and the Internet.
